Your contribution to TenneT

Based on the Energie-akkoord, where the targets and intentions for the transition to a more renewable energy supply are set, the Roadmap Offshore wind energy 2030 and the ambition to realise additional windcapacity prior to 2030 a roll-out strategy is being prepared for the long term, including the 2GW projects. This results in a commitment for TenneT to realise at least 14 2GW HVDC Grid Connection Systems which bring the power from offshore wind-farms in the North sea to the Dutch electricity grid to be commissioned between 2028 - 2031.

Within the portfolio team Stations Petrofac/Hitachi, consisting of at least 6 platform/HVDC projects, we are looking for a Sub Project Lead Structural and T&I. Your tasks and responsibilities are:

• Manage the EPCI contractor towards a successful completion of the design and execution in terms of safety, compliance in regards to the contract, schedule and quality;
• Manage the document review cycle for your discipline and review critical documents yourself;
• Follow up on the structural fabrication works with the site team;
• Cooperate with the certifying authority for acceptance of the structural design and execution of the platform and with the Marine Warranty Surveyor for the T&I scope;
• Act as a central point of contact for assigned stakeholders (e.g. Asset Management and Grid Field Operations) with regards to the affected systems;
• Act upon changes, wishes, requests and discussions coming from internal and external stakeholders;
• Support a successful implementation of Safety by Design;
• Support a successful implementation of systems engineering;
• Ensure the 2GW standard design is adhered to and implemented correctly;
• Align with experts and teams within Offshore NL/GER and various other departments within TenneT and take into account the lessons learned from other large (2GW) projects.

Your profile and background

• Structural engineering background or equivalent (BSc. or Master degree);

• 10 years+ experience with structural design and / or design and execution of T&I works of offshore platforms;

• You have experience with complex projects;

• You have excellent communication, cooperation and influencing skills and are able to challenge and motivate both the contractor team as the internal team;

• You show initiative, you are persuasive, sensitive, aware of your stakeholders and capable of balanced judgment;

• You are dynamic, enthusiastic, intrinsically motivated, you take your responsibility and ownership (committed);

• You are willing to travel frequently abroad (up to 50% of the time) to the office in Sharjah (United Arab Emirates) to visit the designing department of the contractor Petrofac (or other location) and later on in the project to the fabrication yard located in South East Asia.

• You have no nine to five mentality;

• You will work on Mondays and Tuesdays together with your TenneT team members in our office in Arnhem, the other days flexible from home or from the office;

• Experience with or open to gaining knowledge in technical project management, contractor management and all related processes;

• You have strong problem solving skills;

• You are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing. Dutch communication skills are an advantage, not mandatory.

This will be our challenge

Large Projects Offshore is a key contributor to the energy transition. The Unit is responsible for the current and future development of the offshore grid as a whole and subsequently for the development and realization of the DC interconnectors and the Offshore Wind Farm grid connections in both the German and Dutch sectors of the North Sea.

Additional information

• The weekly working time is 40 hours
• 43 holidays per annual on a full time basis
• Job grade 8 or 9 depending on level of experience (Euro 3879 - Euro 8594 gross a month on a full time basis) according TenneT TSO CAO
• Type of contract is temporary for 12 months and a consecutive contract will be indefinite;
