We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a team working on a high-impact mission within the AI Platform Foundations Group at HubSpot. The AI Platform Group is part of the AI Product Line at HubSpot with a mission of empowering HubSpot’s customers with AI. We are working to provide the building blocks for HubSpots Product & Engineering teams to adopt AI throughout the HubSpot product suite.
What We’re Looking For:
This engineer will join the Generative AI Foundations team. This team owns the GenerativeAI Library service and is building out our AI Agent Framework, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) system, LLM evaluation framework and more. AI Agents are our #1 bet for 2024 and so creating a reliable, easy-to-use and scalable framework is our top priority.
We’re looking for individuals who:

- Dive into concepts they may be unfamiliar with.
- Are passionate about delivering exceptional experiences to our customers.
- Take ownership, work collaboratively, and figure things out.
- Analyze trade-offs with empathy, while building creative solutions.
- Demonstrate pragmatic decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
What you’ll need:
- Experience with any JVM language such as Java or Scala
- Ideally you’d have experience developing RAG systems or other Generative AI applications
- Have an interest in, or understanding of, large language models (LLMs) and prompt optimisation
- Like the idea of working on a small, customer-driven development team of 3-5
Cash compensation range: 165200-214800 USD Annually

The cash compensation above includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including their skills, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
