I started up the IT-departement after the company had bought a IBM S/36 with 256 K internal memory and a disk with 60 MB. At the beginning, there were about 20 terminals attached to this computer. I was send to IBM in Utrecht to learn all about systemmanagement and software developement. At first I worked on my own, later on, I got a part time collegue who did the operating so I could concentrate on writing new programs.
